Dr. Noushin S. Ahmed, OD

Dr. Noushin S. Ahmed, OD, graduated from the Southern College of Optometry in Memphis, Tennessee. There, she was the recipient of the Dean’s Scholarship from 2009-2013. After graduation, she proceeded to continue her training in an Ocular Disease Residency at Seidenberg Protzko Eye Associates in Havre de Grace, Maryland. As well as management and treatment of ocular diseases ranging from glaucoma to retina, she has experience in contact lens, pediatrics, and low vision. She has worked with ophthalmologists in pre-/post-operative care for cataract, strabismus, glaucoma, refractive and retinal surgeries. She has provided emergency services as well as consult services in hospital settings where proper communication in an interdisciplinary setting is imperative for proper care. Additionally, her experience as an extern at the Salem VA Hospital and Blue Ridge Eye Associates in Lexington, Virginia has prepared her to best accommodate patients, especially the elderly, with vision threatening conditions such as glaucoma, diabetic and hypertensive retinopathy, and macular degeneration.

Patient care is changing with ongoing research and technology altering diagnosis and treatment. She is prepared to keep informed with involvement in a variety of professional organizations in addition to her natural inquisitiveness. Such curiosity has led her to present a variety of posters and presentations at national and regional meetings.
